Stage Makeup Intensive
CLASSES START MARCH 15, 2025
ZOOM LINKS WILL BE SENT OUT TO PARTICIPANTS BEFORE EACH CLASS
Makeup is a requirement for stage, and many dancers struggle with the sheer amount of information needed to even start learning makeup. Everyday makeup and stage makeup aren’t the same, and sometimes have competing needs. This course has everything you ever needed to know about stage makeup: what to buy, how to apply it, how to figure out what looks good on your face. From foundation to finishing, this course has everything. Each class starts with a presentation for informational purposes and finishes with a live demonstration by Kamrah on the techniques and products presented. It is recommended to have your own makeup kit and mirror available to follow along, and Kamrah will offer advice on application to students.

Module 1: Introduction to Stage Makeup
Makeup is how you have a facial expression on stage. Without facial expression, it is impossible to convey emotion within your dance. This module introduces the basics on what to buy and how to prep the skin for stage makeup.

Kamrah’s Stage Makeup Intensive
“Makeup can help you capture a moment.” – Carine Roitfeld
Makeup might seem like the most annoying, last step before stepping on stage, but I feel like it’s a creative moment that too many of us overlook. Makeup has been used for literally thousands of years to create characters, to create expression, to enhance, to disguise. It’s one of our most powerful tools for expression. It’s taken me 20 years to find what works for me, what I like, how to apply it, of watching YouTube tutorials, studying drag queen’s faces and techniques, watching other dancers apply their makeup, seasons and seasons of Face/Off and Glow Up, and of course, putting on my own makeup for every gig and performance. I’m giving all that experience to you in this course, which has been a labor of love. I can’t wait to chat with you about your makeup journey.
